A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person

That first date, that first kiss, the lingering phone calls – there was a day when wasting time with the most important person in the world was pure joy. You start creating a life together – decorating the sitting room, cooking dinner for friends, going for that challenging new job, and maybe children come along – and you’re breathlessly busy. Then one day the dishwasher hasn’t been emptied, or someone has said the wrong thing at work, you’re tired and stressed and the most important person in the world gets the worst of you.

In this lovely light-hearted little collection of quotes and sayings, Rob Parsons and Katharine Hill capture the pressure points, the highs and lows of domestic trials and bliss and remind us to make the very most of the time we have with the most important person in the world.

A Note from Muddy Pearl

I’m tired, it’s been a really really busy, difficult day, and yet again the dishwasher hasn’t been emptied. Do I make a loaded remark and spark a row, or try to think about his day, how he has been feeling? It’s 50-50, it could go either way. And then, David McNeill’s laugh-out-loud cartoons spring to mind, followed by Rob and Katharine’s oh-so-true reminders about arguments, bringing me into a better frame of mind, into making the right choice; we have a good evening and time together that we both need.

This book is so worth it – a great investment of your limited time and money!

It’s the little things … and this little book really really does make a difference. Give it to a friend getting engaged, or a relative on their anniversary, pop it in the loo, or treat yourself and put your feet up with a cup of tea.
